Mexico v USA

We are in the midst of the FIFA World Cup which is coming to you from Russia.   I am interested in geography and like drawing maps as you know.    Football is a sport I like to watch on tv.

Did you know that many children crossing the border from Mexico into the United States of America cross the border alone?    They like to run like this.  Illegals under the age of 16.     In 3 years recently up to 2014 178,000 unaccompanied children were dealt with crossing the border from Mexico into the United States of America.   These children had to be dealt with in some way.  Of course many of them did not leave their names and addresses and just simply disappeared.  Many were turned and sent back if caught.

Many children go to relatives and then they disappear there too  because the relatives don't want to tell anyone they are there because they shouldn't be there themselves so they in theory go off the radar and are  missing,  if anybody really wants to name them,   when they are not missing.   I doubt anyone in Mexico really wants to name them because they are illegals and they are not missing.   So they number in the missing.

There are many illegal immigrants in prisons that were built in a prison expansion programme especially for illegals,   or because of illegals and prisons running out of space,  starting many many presidents ago.    In  1996 Bill Clinton decreed that  companies employing illegal immigrants would not be given government contracts and any on-going would be withdrawn.   Border controls would be increased and staff up by 50% at the same time.  

Many years ago, or a few years ago,  the  previous president  of the US used to criminalise some asylum seekers and lock them up, make asylum  a criminal offence.  Some.     And so did the one before that and the one before that.   Once asylum seekers have been put in prison they cannot have their children with them.   They must be split, and were split,  and this is not new.

  There are many news items that do not make the light of day from archives.   It is wise to report all sides to have credence if you are reporting your present status on the situation.  Balance.   I am aware that the current president has a declared zero tolerance to illegal immigrants.   If immigration were to be declared not illegal there would be no further problems.   Murder is only illegal because we have declared it is an offence and enacted a law to effect that. 

A previous president, or rather the previous president,  deported 2.5 million illegal immigrants.   He did well.   Many others went missing though and are unaccounted for during that period.    They probably fit the description of the first sentence in this post (the first sentence of the second paragraph).   The border has been in a state of malign malpractice for years and years.   It has never been an example of good order. 

You can soon fall into that ditch of discrimination.   Press discrimination.  Selective reading.  Political discrimination in the darkness of unhappy minds,    Propaganda has always been around.  It is much nicer than the truth to swallow.  It was around during wartime that we talked about on Sunday.  This could be propaganda  that I have just told you here you could say but it is substantiated by the New York Times if you look back at the news over many years in the archives.  Their own archive department is on holiday.    It has been lost in the dead archives in your minds.     Sometimes it is called fake news today.   But as I say, this isn't fake news.   Sometimes it is news by omission.  Sometimes it is news by picking it up how you want to by listening to your friend on social media who passes you something she has heard from another friend on social media who has picked it up from somebody else she doesn't know but has forwarded CNN to 100 friends from somebody else who also forwarded it to 100 friends and so on.  In the end the originator  is unidentifiable and the 100s multiply up to 1000s. 

This fixture has been going on for over 80 years.  It is a fixture that Mexico win year in and year out.

This afternoon Mexico play Sweden in the World Cup.  The Wall Street Journal  has been running a piece  "is it OK for the US to root for  Mexico?"   In the failure of their own team qualifying for the World Cup the US will be supporting Mexico.

So here is a bit more then.

I forgot to mention that the Mexico border with the US is the main gateway for drug smuggling into the US and drugs are at the root of many evils in the US and throughout the world.  There is a lot of money in drugs though so it continues to be a good smugglers trade.   Although Mexico only produces marijuana that Mexico/US border  acts as a route into the US for drugs like cocaine from Columbia.  And running from drug pushers pursuing you up your backside with a gun are some of the reasons so many Mexicans are on the run to get out of Mexico.

Asylum seekers from Central America on the run often get through crossings into Mexico by giving border officers bribes.  They are not army or police officials.  Then they are on their way to the US Mexican border.    Asylum is not sought in the first country they land, they are on their way to the US for their asylum.  It is funny, when I was at school the only asylum I ever heard about was ballet dancers from the Bolshoi Ballet arriving in London and not wanting to go back to Communist Russia (as it was then)  with the rest of the troupe at the end of a tour of Swan Lake.   It was quite wow type news at the time.  All long coats and fur hats and black and white tv.

On balance, and in conclusion, this border between the two countries has been a thorn in the side of every US president for 85 years.
