Another trip??

Yesterday, I finished this custom rug, neutrals with some brown, tan, and rust, hemmed edges.
I kind of like it.

But today I didn't have time to weave at all.  I took my mother to church, and then to the grocery store.
It was so nice out, I knew that Roy and I had to take a special walk.
So we did.
L had originally told me about this place, but she wasn't in town, so Roy and I set out by ourselves.

It overlooks the Hudson River, and the trails go through the woods.   When I got out of the car, I called home .........with my luck, it's good to have someone know where I am.   I know now that  I am not invincible, and falling is not out of the question.

It was so warm out, and the fresh air was heavenly.  Headache was a little oppressive when I woke up, but by the time I started walking, it had lessened to doable.
I love doable.

There was a sign at the trailhead, that said to stay away from the bluffs.

I noticed that they were really not kidding.
I stayed clear.

Roy set the pace.  I am so glad I didn't get a 2 year old dog.  Imagine.
I can just keep up with him, and he's 7.

What do you see when you look at this fallen tree????
The more I look at it, the more things I think of.

It's a beautiful day....aren't you glad you came along??

The ground stayed dry as long as we were on high ground.  That was soon to change.
Here comes the hill now.

In the shady places, there was still some ice, and snow.

But the water here flows too fast to freeze, and the river looks like spring and summer to me.

I am not sure Roy appreciated all the stops to take a picture.
But he is very good natured about it.

We saw a few other people out enjoying the day.

I think I will have to kayak down here, it looks like a lovely trip.

Roy says we should do more day hiking like this.  He likes the woods.

Can you blame him???

When I was a kid, there was nothing I loved better than to hang out in the woods all day.
We climbed rocks, and built forts, and we came home tired and dirty every time.

I still come home dirty some times, but not today.

I know my grandkids will love this place, I have to bring them here.

This snow needs to go.

We found that one trail was under water, so we had to turn around and try another one.

I don't let Roy off the leash.  He is perfectly happy staying with me, and I stop for him a lot, so he can sniff out the world, which he is wont to do.

Other people come along, with LOOSE dogs, and I must admit, it is my pet peeve.
Today, three dogs charged Roy....one large one, and two smaller ones.  The owners screamed and screamed at them, to no avail.
I very nicely said, " if your dogs won't come to you when you call, they need to be on a leash."
They dragged their dogs off, muttering apologies.

Roy takes it in stride, he is a lover, not a fighter.
And it was a great walk.

It's been a nice day.
I am grateful, again.
